ICL

Image title

An ICL is an Implantable Collamer Lens which works with the eye to correct the vision. Dissimilar with the traditional contact lenses which go on the surface of the eye, the ICL is positioned inside the eye in between the iris (the coloured part of eye) & the natural lens. Once it is implanted, the lens will stays indefinitely in the eye. If the vision changes dramatically over time, the lens can be easily removed or replaced.

PROCEDURE:

The ICL procedure is virtually painless, & takes nearly the same time as a typical LASIK surgery to correct each eye. Patient will be given an anaesthetic to numb the eye, so patient won’t feel any pain.

The implant operation is quick & painless, and lasting only about 10-15 minutes. The area surrounding the eyes will be cleaned & a sterile drape will be applied around the eye. When the eye was completely numb, an eyelid speculum will be introduced in between the eyelids to keep you from the blinking while performing the procedure. The recovery time was short & the result of the operation is almost immediate. Most of the patients can resume to their normal activities within a week.

ADVANTAGES OF ICL:

  • No blood!

  • No hospitalisation!

  • Almost all levels of power can be resolved.

  • Excellent quality of the vision.

  • Easily removed or replaced ( 5 - 10 minutes)

  • Cosmetically good as it’s INVISIBLE!!

  • Fast recovery
